Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is offering a school leaver apprenticeship in Public Sector Audit. You will support audit engagements, analyse financial data, and use AI-powered tools to enhance insights.

The programme provides funded ACA study, structured training and study leave, plus mentorship and diverse client exposure. This role welcomes applicants with GCSEs in maths and English and UCAS points, and it offers hands-on client work from day one, with progression toward professional qualification

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade 4/C (or equivalent qualifications).
• Achieved or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points from your top three A Levels, BTECs, Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, or other recognised Level 3 qualifications.
• Interest in numbers, data analysis and risk; ability to communicate clearly and build relationships.
• Willingness to learn and study toward a professional qualification alongside your role.

Responsibilities

• Support audit engagements by testing financial information and reviewing evidence to ensure statements are accurate and compliant.
• Analyse financial data to understand how businesses operate, identify risks and highlight key findings.
• Use audit technology, AI-powered tools and data analytics to interpret large data sets and improve audit quality.
• Research accounting and auditing standards and apply them to client situations.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues, gather information, respond to queries and contribute to meetings and reports.
• Work with Audit, Tax and Advisory teams to gain a broader understanding of client challenges and solutions.
• Take on increasing responsibility as you develop, building technical expertise and managing workload.
