Your Role

Gensler is seeking a Public Relations Manager to join our Europe team for a fixed term 12-monthmaternity cover. You will be responsible for the overall reputation development and oversight of the delivery of the communications strategy for our five offices across Europe in London, Berlin, Paris, Munich and Birmingham. You will be adept at navigating various markets, media contacts and leadership structures while creating local storylines that fit into a larger, global narrative.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual – a strategic thinker with an understanding of the built environment, who can build on Gensler’s current momentum in the market and continue to elevate the brand. The Public Relations Manager will sit in the London office, reporting to the Europe Regional Marketing Director and line managing the Europe Senior Public Relations Coordinator. Please note, this role is not remote.

What You Will Do

  • Work with Regional Leadership, the Regional Marketing Director and Senior Public Relations Coordinator to continue to deliver the FY26 PR strategy.
  • Lead large-scale campaigns and position our Regional Leadership, design talent, industry-leading research, and real-time thought leadership with major news outlets, leveraging your robust network of media relationships.
  • Lead speaking engagements to position our Regional Leadership at key industry events in the cultural calendar.
  • Lead opportunities for hosted in office events in close collaboration with the Regional Marketing Director.
  • Work with the Senior Public Relations Coordinator to co-ordinate interviews, media briefings and journalist follow ups for Gensler spokespeople.
  • Work closely with the Firmwide PR and Marketing teams on global campaigns, creating relevance in our local markets.
  • Manage the Senior Public Relations Coordinator, reviewing their content including award submissions, PR plans, briefings and weekly local and global news roundups such as the Industry Brief and This Week at Gensler.
  • Work with the Communications Strategist and Social Media Coordinator to provide oversight for the region’s content and channels including project stories and blogs for Gensler.com, Instagram and X, ensuring that local stories are also amplified on Firmwide channels.
  • Guide high-level decision making and develop scenarios for any crisis comms, as appropriate.
  • Manage engagement with external partners including related campaigns and positioning opportunities.
  • Track metrics on PR reach and engagement across the region to inform future strategies and tactics.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a PR position; experience in the real estate, design or building industries is of interest; agency experience is helpful.
  • Strong relationships with key national, global architecture and design trade media + consumer lifestyle, news, and business media, and proven track record of placing significant stories.
  • Experience collaborating with and counselling senior executives to secure information that supports storytelling.
  • Well-versed in PR risk issues and developing scenarios to help firm leaders make decisions.
  • Works well as a member of a team, forward-thinking go-getter. Ability to adapt in dynamic settings with “make it happen” leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and conceptual design skills.
  • Proven ability to set and manage personal priorities and move projects forward with minimal guidance; senior-level initiative; and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of French and/or German is desirable.
  • Software: Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Cision.
