The Role

As an Apprentice Public Relations & Communications Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in shaping how the Council connects with the community. Under expert supervision, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all aspects of public relations and communications, including:

  • Planning and delivering PR campaigns and strategies.
  • Writing engaging press releases.
  • Creating compelling content for print, online, and social media platforms.
  • Monitoring and responding to public and media opinion.
  • Supporting Council events and initiatives.

You’ll collaborate across various departments, building a strong understanding of the Council’s work and priorities. Your creative ideas and communications expertise will help influence public perception, engage residents, and achieve key objectives for the Council.
