Porter Novelli is recruiting for a Corporate and B2B Account Manager to join our dynamic global communications company.

The Corporate & Brand team boasts a roster of world-leading brands and B2B clients which will give you the opportunity to hone your organisational, storytelling and media skills. We’re looking for someone with a background in corporate communications and/or B2B tech who is looking to join a growing global team and really make their mark on several key accounts. The Account Manager is a pivotal role in the team driving results for our clients, whilst maintaining strong links with journalist contacts and acts as the day-to-day point of contact for some core clients. What your day to day could look like:

  • Guiding day-to-day account activities, activating client plans and working with the junior team to deliver exceptional results and coverage.
  • Crafting and executing creative and compelling pitch angles, op-eds and thought leadership ideas with our junior team.
  • Developing media strategies and managing sell-ins.
  • Taking journalists out and getting under the skin of what is motivating them.
  • Supporting on project or account briefs, working with senior C&B members and our creative, data and planning teams to deliver on our clients’ objectives in the most impactful way possible.
  • Crisis and issues support, helping to draft statements, supporting with risk assessments and setting up monitoring.
  • Supporting senior team members with video shoots, events and media training.
  • Helping to brief spokespeople for interviews.
  • Learning and using our proprietary Data Engine tech tools to enhance and deliver client work.
  • Effectively managing and delegating to junior team members to deliver client service excellence.
  • Leading client status calls and managing project timelines and status reports.
  • Supporting with market management on our global accounts.
  • Supporting with budgeting and scopes of work.
  • Contributing to new business pitches.
  • Contributing to agency culture and initiatives.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • At least one year’s experience in a corporate/B2B Account Manager role.
  • Good working knowledge of corporate communications and B2B tech with a strong network of media contacts in this space.
  • Understanding of the issues impacting clients and how to craft compelling stories based on these.
  • Curiosity and a desire to be on the front-foot of industry trends and the news agenda.
  • A commitment to live our values (see below).
  • You’ll be a driver of coverage, seeking new ways to tell stories.
  • Proactive, excellent at taking initiative, and eager to learn
  • Some experience working on a global account with exposure to managing local market teams
  • You will be able to look at topics and issues from ‘a different angle’ to deliver impactful coverage.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Some experience of crisis and issues.
  • Strong organisational skills and time management.
  • Experience of managing client relationships with senior guidance.
  • Desire to manage and guide junior team members.
