Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a Landscape Architect to join the Parks and Greenspaces Service. You will manage landscape projects from concept to delivery, shaping parks, open spaces, and green infrastructure across Birmingham.

Under the Principal Landscape Architect, you will prepare designs, drawings and specifications, supervise works on site, and collaborate with contractors, members, communities and stakeholders to deliver high-quality public realm schemes that enhance biodiversity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Landscape Architecture with accredited postgraduate qualification.
• Strong design, graphic, written and numeracy skills.
• Experience in a landscape design office and delivering projects to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned landscape projects and ensure key milestones are met.
• Undertake site appraisals, surveys, and research to inform design development.
• Prepare landscape designs, technical drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Develop Health and Safety Plans in line with CDM Regulations.
• Supervise contracts during construction and monitor budgets and programme.
• Present proposals and reports to committees and stakeholders.
