Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Public Realm Insight and Intelligence Manager.

The successful candidate will primarily support Street Environment Services by contributing to data analysis for the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) funded ‘Effective and Efficient’ project and aspects of the Simpler Recycling rollout.

The role will also involve leading initiatives on the potential of AI and machine learning to automate service delivery, enhance processing, and explore standalone projects such as route optimisation, aiming for future efficiencies, cost savings, and a more sustainable division.

Knowledge

• Excellent understanding of information governance and data security best practices, rules, and regulations
• Deep knowledge of data storage and management, with problem-solving skills related to business systems

Aptitude

• Ambitious, motivated, and capable of inspiring others, leading teams, and working collaboratively to achieve outstanding results
• Proven track record in project management
• Strong interpersonal skills to work under pressure
• Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, including with Public Health and TfL

Skills

• In-depth understanding of the role and statutory requirements of local authorities
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify creative and practical solutions
• Experience in developing insight and intelligence agendas collaboratively with senior management
• Competence in designing services that deliver desirable outcomes
• Resource management, risk mitigation, and prioritisation skills to meet tight deadlines

Experience

• Extensive experience leading business intelligence in the public sector
• Proven ability to provide insights that support data-driven decision-making and resource allocation
• Experience presenting complex strategic reports to management and Members
• Expertise in data visualisation platforms such as MS Power BI
• Experience handling big data and applying data science techniques
• Knowledge of quality management, auditing, and continuous improvement processes
