Location: Manchester or Lancashire (Hybrid Working Available)

We are currently working on behalf of a respected and well-established regional law firm seeking a Public Law Solicitor to join their thriving Family Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate legal professional with a strong background in public law children matters to take the next step in their career.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will handle a varied and stimulating caseload of public law children matters, including care proceedings, adoption, special guardianship orders, and pre-proceedings work. You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative family law team committed to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing your own caseload of public law family matters from inception to completion
• Representing clients in court and at case conferences
• Liaising with guardians, local authorities, and third-party experts
• Ensuring all work complies with legal aid and regulatory requirements

About You:

We’re looking for a solicitor who is:

• 2+ years PQE with solid experience in public law family work
• Ideally Children Panel accredited (or working towards accreditation)
• Experienced in working with legal aid and vulnerable clients
• A confident advocate with strong communication and organisational skills
• Passionate about delivering high-quality legal services with empathy and professionalism
