Job summary

NHS England West Midlands is seeking an experienced public health consultant to join as Training Programme Director (TPD). You will lead training across the region, shaping curricula and ensuring high-quality education for public health trainees while upholding regulatory standards.

You will foster an inclusive learning environment, champion quality improvement and trainee wellbeing, and collaborate with faculty to implement national professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current clinical commitment in the School/specialty.
• Experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
• Experience in clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.
• Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years.
• Active involvement in, and up to date with, appraisal processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee training programmes across the region.
• Ensure educational outcomes and learner supervision meet national standards.
• Drive whole workforce transformation and multi-professional links.
• Collaborate with Head of School and trainers to support change and improvement.
