Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Staff Nurses 0 – 19 to join our forward‑thinking Dorchester Locality team. We have a part‑time vacancy of 22.5 hours per week, with core team hours 09:00 – 17:00 and no weekend working.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and work in partnership with children, young people and families, Local Authority Children’s Services, Early Years Providers, Schools, voluntary and community sector agencies and other Health Care providers.
  • Work closely with other members of the CYP Public Health Service 0 – 19 to provide services in response to identified needs, including safeguarding and supporting children and young people and their families, using evidence‑based, early intervention strategies.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and packages of care to people on an allocated caseload, promoting independence and autonomy, and working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Provide advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.
  • Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of evidence‑based practice and outcome measures.
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written form in the exchange of complex, sensitive or contentious information in difficult situations using de‑escalation, mediation, resolution and professional Duty of Candour.
  • Support the management of change through innovative thinking, use of negotiating skills, self‑awareness and communication.
Requirements
  • Applications from candidates requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible.
  • Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of; DBS update service holders may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
  • Ability to work a part‑time schedule of 22.5 hours per week with core hours 09:00 – 17:00, no weekend working.
  • Strong evidence‑based clinical skills and experience in child and family health.
