We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Staff Nurses 0-19, to join our forward-thinking Dorchester Locality team. We have a part-time vacancy of 22.50 hours per week, with core hours from 09:00 to 17:00, and no weekend work.
As a Public Health Staff Nurse 0-19, you will participate in delivering the Healthy Child Programme, working in partnership with children, young people, and families, as well as with local authority children’s services, early years providers, schools, voluntary and community sector agencies, and other healthcare providers. You will work closely with members of the CYP Public Health Service 0-19 to provide services in response to identified needs, including safeguarding and support for children, young people, and their families, using evidence-based, early intervention strategies.

Employment in this role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribed to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
The post holder will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions and care packages for clients on an allocated caseload, promoting independence and working within a multidisciplinary team.
Provide advice on management and care of patients/service users.
Demonstrate clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, especially when exchanging complex, sensitive, or contentious information in difficult situations, using de-escalation, mediation, and professional Duty of Candour.
Support change management through innovative thinking, negotiation skills, self-awareness, and effective communication.
