Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Staff Nurses 0 – 19, to join our forward-thinking West Dorset Locality team, covering the areas of Lyme, Bridport, Beaminster and Maiden Newton.

There are two posts available. One post will be for 22.5 hours per week and one post will be for 30 hours per week.

As a Public Health Staff Nurse 0 - 19, you will participate in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and will work in partnership with children, young people and families, the Local Authority Children’s Services, Early Years Providers, Schools, voluntary and community sector agencies and other Health Care providers. You will be required to work closely with other members of the CYP Public Health Service 0 – 19, to provide services in response to identified needs, including safeguarding and supporting children and young people and their families, using evidence-based, early intervention strategies.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and packages of care to people on an allocated caseload; promoting independence and autonomy; working within a multi-disciplinary team.

Provide advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.

Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures.

To evaluate care, taking appropriate action leading to improvement in quality standards through clinical audit, and contributing to root cause analysis and dealing with complaints.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
