Overview

In the Ageing Well and Workplace Health team, this position will support the senior programme officer and service lead in contract management of NHS Health Checks and Tier 2 Adult weight management services. You will organise and collaborate with partners and stakeholders to ensure providers fulfil contractual obligations including KPIs and financial assistance. You will compile data and evidence related to public health to create action plans, service proposals, and future project ideas focused on meeting the health needs of Birmingham residents.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the senior programme officer and service lead in contract management of NHS Health Checks and Tier 2 Adult weight management services.
  • Collaborate across organisational boundaries with partners and stakeholders to improve services and ensure KPIs and financial assistance are met.
  • Compile data and evidence related to public health to inform action plans, service proposals, and future project ideas.
  • Apply public health, project management, and matrix-working approaches to work across internal and external organisations.
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders to support Public Health outcomes and contribute to the inclusion health agenda.

We are part of the Public Health Division within the largest Local Authority in the country, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including internal directorates, ICB, NHS, academics, the Integrated Care System partners and adult social care. The team focuses on statutory services obligated by OHID, NHS Health Checks, and commissioned Tier 2 Adult Weight Management services. The goal is to decrease health disparities among adults in Birmingham by aggregating information from multiple sources, commissioning services to prevent avoidable diseases, and offering guidance on maintaining good health.
