Coventry City Council is offering a permanent Programme Manager position in the Public Health team, focused on improving health and wellbeing for various demographics. The Public Health team is part of the Public Health, Insight and Migration Division. Reporting to the Director of Public Health and Wellbeing, the team helps people to stay healthy and protect them from threats to their health.

Job Role
This is a permanent contract for 37 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Public Health team as a Programme Manager, leading the development, delivery, and management of multiple public health programmes aimed at improving health and wellbeing for children, young people, and older adults.

Candidate Profile
We seek candidates with excellent programme and people management skills, experience working collaboratively across organizations, and a proven track record in problem solving, advocating change, and data-driven decision-making. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences such as the Coventry’s Health and Wellbeing Board, elected officials, and community groups.
Applicants will need to demonstrate experience in managing multiple programmes, driving service quality improvements, leading and motivating others beyond direct influence, and working at a senior level across organizations.
