We are offering a fantastic, fixed term opportunity to join our high performing and ambitious public health team, covering the maternity leave of our permanent Public Health Principal (Health Inequalities and Healthy Life Expectancy).
This role leads on a wide range of priorities which contribute to reducing health inequalities and improving healthy life expectancy, with a particular focus on wellbeing services, healthy weight, tobacco control and sexual health.
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic public health professional who will be key in leading the team from July 2025 until July 2026 to achieve our public health ambitions.
About You
The postholder will have substantial experience in programme management and commissioning within public health or a related field, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences, including elected members and external partners.
The post will play a key role in implementing our refreshed health and wellbeing strategy and will be responsible for leading and supporting development, delivery and evaluation of prevention and public health programmes across the organisation. Managing a varied portfolio of work, the postholder will have oversight of several workstreams and must be able to manage multiple projects to a high standard, maintaining deadlines and presenting reports as required.
We are looking for a commitment to team-working and a value-centred approach to work, based on respect and a real desire to improve health outcomes for the population of North East Lincolnshire.
The postholder will possess public health knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience of delivering public health programmes in a range of settings. They will be able to analyse and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data and research evidence from a range of sources, making recommendations and informing decision making.
The postholder will also be committed to continuous professional development, have a passion for delivering quality services to the highest standard and possess excellent organisational and managerial skills. The candidate will have the ability to work effectively on their own and as part of a wider team, with a flexible approach to work.
