About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join our Te Waipounamu regional team in the National Public Health Service as a Public Health Policy Advisor in a fixed-term, full-time role.
The Public Health Policy Advisor will contribute to a mix of short and longer-term projects within the Health in all Policies team, providing evidence-based advice and support to work taking place across the region. This will include analysis of significant policy developments/changes impacting Public Health, preparation of policy advice and building relationships internally and externally to identify emerging issues and opportunities of significance to the National Public Health Service across the region.
The duration of this fixed-term is 12 months.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
You have experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. You have an understanding of and ability to select, adapt and use a range of frameworks, principles, tools and methods and draw on experience in different areas of expertise to apply them appropriately to given issues. Knowledge and experience of the Health in All Policies approach to growing and leveraging enduring relationships is also helpful.
