We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.
This is a rotational RGN role within a busy remand prison. You will be expected to cover medication administration, triage, and emergency care alongside your role as Public Health Nurse. We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.

Example shifts are: 07:00 - 20:00, 08:00 - 21:00, 09:00 - 22:00, 19:45 - 07:30 Salary: This position isfull time,youll receive an annual salary up to £40,211per annum FTE - depending on experience. As our new Public Health Nurse, you will have varying responsibilities. Some of your duties will include:
- Working within Public Health, Triage, and Meds - this is a very varied role!
- Lead on prevention, promotion and protection of our prison communities
- Lead health promotion activities, delivering proactive clinics and awareness campaigns, provide health promotion and disease prevention advice
- Conduct IPC audits and training on site
- Ensure the effective and consistent delivery of national screening programmes, health checks, screening and recording public health activity

Our new Public Health Nurse will:- Be a First Level Registered Nurse with NMC Registration
- Have a passion for working in public health
- Although not essential, UKPHR registration would be beneficial, as would any Public Health Qualification, or an Infection Prevention and Control Qualification
- Have knowledge of Public Health issues, and infection prevention and control measures
- A flexible approach to shifts and duties
