A community health organization is seeking a qualified health professional to support public health initiatives in Aboriginal communities. The role includes developing clinical systems and contributing to public health policies. Candidates must be eligible for medical registration in the NT and show a commitment to cross-cultural communication. This position offers flexibility and opportunities for professional development.
AMSANT is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the Northern Territory and advocates for equity in health, focusing on supporting the provision of high quality comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.
Contract Duration: Fixed Term for 12 Months
Work hours: Full-Time/Part Time : Monday-Friday 08:00am - 04:30pm
Location: Darwin/Alice Springs

Role Description:
This position will provide registrars with excellent opportunity to develop public health skills in an Aboriginal community-controlled environment. This position will contribute to the AMSANT public health unit across a range of areas including policy, advocacy and research, communicable disease and public health approaches and clinical system development within primary health care. The position will also undertake project work with previous examples including needs analysis focusing on antenatal care and a review of early childhood programs relevant to Aboriginal primary health care. The position will also contribute to the day-to-day work of the Public Health Unit including through providing timely advice on policy/advocacy/research issues to the public health manager and then to the CEO and board as needed. The work plan for this position will be flexible depending on existing skills, experience, interest and training needs of the successful applicant.
