Leeds City Council is seeking a Public Health Information Analyst/Statistician to analyze health data and support evidence-based decision-making. Job purpose: To turn health data into information to improve public health intelligence, lead projects, and develop data sets aligned with priorities. To advise on health needs, inequalities, and communicate findings effectively.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in statistical techniques and procedures, with ongoing professional development.
Essential requirements: Proven problem-solving skills, independence, numeracy, communication skills, organisational ability, proficiency in MS Office, understanding of data quality, experience with NHS or similar data, and knowledge of data security.
Behavioural & other characteristics: Alignment with Leeds City Council values, commitment to continuous improvement, understanding of policies, safety awareness, participation in development activities, flexibility, and support for diversity and equality.
Desirable requirements: Knowledge of public health data sources, experience with large datasets, survey design, and GP systems like SystemOne/Emis.
