Job purpose: To turn health data into information to improve public health intelligence, lead projects, and develop data sets aligned with priorities. To advise on health needs, inequalities, and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis, interpretation, and reporting using SQL, spreadsheets, and analytical tools
  • Write queries for GP IT Systems and support survey projects
  • Provide advice on analyses, lead projects, develop data sets, and undertake research
  • Support performance reporting and develop datasets for changing needs
  • Communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Engage with other data providers and develop statistical techniques
  • Ensure data quality and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Support dissemination of statistics and maintain GP IT searches

Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in statistical techniques and procedures, with ongoing professional development.

Essential requirements: Proven problem-solving skills, independence, numeracy, communication skills, organisational ability, proficiency in MS Office, understanding of data quality, experience with NHS or similar data, and knowledge of data security.

Behavioural & other characteristics: Alignment with Leeds City Council values, commitment to continuous improvement, understanding of policies, safety awareness, participation in development activities, flexibility, and support for diversity and equality.

Desirable requirements: Knowledge of public health data sources, experience with large datasets, survey design, and GP systems like SystemOne/Emis.
