Job summary

Norfolk County Council in Norwich is inviting applications for a Public Health Apprentice. This three-year, earnings-as-you-learn apprenticeship combines study with hands-on public health work and a BSc in Public Health via Coventry University, with day release. On completion, eligibility to register with UKPHR is expected.

The role supports project work, analyses, procurement, and health promotion, with a hybrid working pattern and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Must hold UK Level 2 GCSE Maths and English (A–C / 9–4).
• Must have a minimum of 112 UCAS Tariff Points from A-levels, BTECs, or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship is for new learning; no public health degree or UKPHR status yet.
• Must be aged 18 or over at start.
• Must meet UK residency eligibility as specified.

Responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of public health projects using project management frameworks.
• Assist in technical, statistical, quantitative, and qualitative analyses (JSNA, health equity audits).
• Draft evidence-based service specifications to support procurement and contract management.
• Support development and implementation of public health strategies.
• Create and deliver community engagement activities and health promotion materials.
• Complete academic and workplace assignments required for the apprenticeship.
