Job description

Join us in our mission to support and champion any man worldwide who wants to win his battle against fat and get healthier!

MAN v FAT is an award-winning, innovative men’s health provider operating three programmes: MAN v FAT Rugby, MAN v FAT Soccer, and MAN v FAT Football. Our programmes are exclusively for overweight and obese men to improve their physical and mental health. Launched in 2016 by male weight loss specialists, MAN v FAT Football appeals to men who love football and want to improve their health.

The unique aspect of these leagues is that the competition is decided not only on points won but also on pounds lost! More information can be found at www.manvfatfootball.org. Since our launch in January 2016, the programmes have helped players lose over 750,000 pounds (340 tonnes!). This success has led to endorsements from the English and Welsh FAs, English RFU, and Sport England. We now have over 160 Rugby and Football leagues across the UK and 10 MAN v FAT Soccer Leagues across three states in the US.

We are looking for a dedicated Public Health and Rugby Co-Ordinator to be a key member of the MAN v FAT Operations team. The role suits someone passionate about improving men’s health, with expertise in delivering high-quality initiatives across multiple sites and working closely with community partners. The role will collaborate with the Public Health Contracts Manager and Rugby Lead to ensure the smooth running of MAN v FAT Football and Rugby Clubs in the UK.

Typical responsibilities of a Public Health and Rugby Co-Ordinator include:

  1. Supporting the development of training, resources, and delivery to meet player expectations.
  2. Ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across our club network, including conducting Quality Assurance visits to ensure compliance with health & safety and player support standards.
  3. Being the primary contact for club coaches, supporting delivery quality and addressing day-to-day queries.
  4. Attending monthly Club Management Meetings to contribute to the organisation's operations.
  5. Liaising with the Contracts Manager and Rugby Lead to maximize club capacity and managing a RAG system to drive league growth.
  6. Overseeing cover requirements, including referees and assistant coaches where appropriate.
  7. Managing disciplinary processes at the club level and escalating breaches to relevant authorities as needed, ensuring compliance with governance legislation.
  8. Representing MAN v FAT at stakeholder events and media inquiries.
  9. Managing the Broadcast WhatsApp groups and sharing relevant content.
  10. Promoting and embedding MAN v FAT's ethos and values across clubs and the wider organisation.

About you...

We value attitude and team spirit over traditional skills. You should be a team player who is passionate about men’s health and aligns with our ethos. The role is ideal for someone with:

  • A personable demeanour and team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A passion for men’s health.
  • Knowledge of local health landscapes and commissioning priorities is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail, data critique skills, and the ability to develop improvement plans.
  • MAN v FAT is an equal opportunity workplace committed to diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities, and can provide accommodations during the recruitment process upon request.
