Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Public Convenience Cleaner to join Cheshire East Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday (rotating shift pattern).

You will be responsible for cleaning wash-hand basins, toilets, urinals, floors and related areas, replenishing consumables, and ensuring health and safety records are maintained. Strong customer care and ability to communicate with the public are essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean wash-hand basins, sinks, toilets, urinals, floors and cubicles to specification
• Replenish consumables such as toilet rolls, soap and towels
• Keep records of work and health and safety documentation
• Communicate with the public and staff with high levels of customer care
• Respond promptly to complaints and ensure graffiti removal when needed

Key Responsibilities

• To take responsibility for own workloads and using initiative whilst thoroughly cleaning all wash-hand basins, sinks, surrounds, splash backs, shelves, mirrors, toilet pans, seats, urinals, floors, walls and cubicles; along with replenishing of consumables within the relevant public conveniences. Ensure all cleansing specifications and standards are achieved
• Communicate and liaise with members of the public, stakeholders, partners and other staff members, in a positive way providing high levels of customer care and service.
• Ensure completion of appropriate documentation relative to jobholder’s post, i.e. timesheets, consumable orders and work records relating to Health and Safety
• To ensure prompt and effective response to client and/or staff complaints and to apply appropriate customer care techniques at all times
• Removal of any graffiti
• Ensure the timely replenishment of all consumables including toilet rolls, soap, paper towels etc
• Ensure all works are carried out to the required specification, both efficiently and economically
