Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management seeks an Overnight Public Area Cleaner for AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow, a contemporary urban retreat in the heart of the city. You will maintain lobby and public spaces, ensuring cleanliness and a welcoming environment after hours.

Full training is provided; prior cleaning experience is a plus. The role requires working the night shift from 11:30pm to 6am, five days per week, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping is a plus but not essential; full training provided.
• Eye for detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when engaging with guests and team members.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time efficiently.
• Physical stamina for repetitive cleaning tasks and moving supplies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators).
• Perform cleaning tasks (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing).
• Restock supplies in restrooms and public spaces as needed.
• Respond to guest requests with a warm, professional attitude.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor to ensure a safe environment.
• Assist in setting up for events and special occasions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OVERNIGHT PUBLIC AREA CLEANER AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

• Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and elevators, ensuring they are inviting and meet high standards.
• Performing regular cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to keep all areas spotless and hygienic.
• Monitoring and restocking supplies like toiletries, towels, and sanitizers in restrooms and other public spaces.
• Responding promptly to guest requests for assistance or cleaning needs in public areas, providing excellent customer service and a warm, professional attitude.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment needs to the supervisor to ensure a safe and well-functioning environment.
• Assisting in setting up for events and special occasions, ensuring public spaces are prepared and welcoming for all guests.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles is a plus, but not essential; full training will be provided.
• An eye for detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards, ensuring all public spaces are immaculate and inviting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage professionally and courteously with guests and team members.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time efficiently to complete tasks on schedule.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving supplies as needed.
• A proactive attitude towards safety and the willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
• Be able to commit to working NIGHT SHIFT 11.30pm - 6am, 5 days a week
