TheResearch and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. Wehave several research specialities, and the NIHR Leeds Clinical ResearchFacility is looking for a Public and Patient Involvement Engagement Officer.It is a full-time post (1.0 WTE) and will be based at Leeds TeachingHospitals NHS Trust with travel across Leeds.
Thepost holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, anddelivery of the PPIE Research Portfolio. The main tasks are: delivering theNIHR Leeds CRF annual PPIE plan, focusing on enhancing engagement withunderserved groups; managing the RIDERS (Research & Innovation DocumentEngagement and Review Service) commercial programme, providing patient/publicreview of research documents for pharmaceutical companies; and coordinatingvolunteer Research Champions and PPIE Advisory Groups across multiple diseasespecialities.
Inaddition to ensuring that high standards of patient and public involvement inplanning, delivery, safety, and satisfaction are met to very high standards,compliance with Trust policy, NIHR requirements, local and national PPIEguidance, and legislation is required.

Weare seeking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keeninterest in research to join the NIHR Leeds Clinical Research Facility PPIEteam.
Thepost-holder will: work alongside commercial pharmaceutical companies,Clinical Research Organisations, and the National Institute for HealthResearch (NIHR) Clinical Research Network Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H),attending regional and national meetings as required. They will play a leadrole in the RIDERS commercial service, coordinating patient and public reviewpanels to evaluate research documents for international sponsors. The roleinvolves managing diverse volunteer Research Champions across cancer,cardiovascular, dental, children's, and multimorbidity specialities, whilstdeveloping community partnerships with grassroots organisations to enhanceengagement with underserved populations. The post holder will deliver virtualoutreach programmes, support the Multi-morbidity Joint Enablement Group, andcontribute to the NIHR Leeds CRF's annual PPIE objectives. Workingcollaboratively with NIHR family colleagues, local government public healthteams, voluntary sector partners, and community organisations, they willcoordinate public engagement activities at local and regional levels. Therole requires excellent project management skills to deliver complexinitiatives spanning multiple partners whilst ensuring compliance with NIHRframeworks and Trust policies.

TheNational Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) providesinfrastructure funding to the NIHR Leeds Clinical Research Facility (NIHRLeeds CRF). The NIHR Leeds CRF supports the delivery of early translationaland experimental medicine research, from studies testing new treatments inpatients for the very first time (first-in-human trials) through to earlysafety and efficacy trials (Phase IIa trials) and complex later phase trials.The NIHR Leeds CRF is one of 28 NIHR funded CRFs and provides dedicatedpurpose-built facilities and expertise for the delivery of high-intensitystudies funded by the NIHR, the life sciences industry and otherorganisations.
