Job description

Overview of the role

Sitting within Catch22’s Communications and Policy Team, you will lead on public affairs activity related to our TikTok Creative Academy programme, which supports young people facing barriers to work into jobs in the cultural and creative sectors.

You will work closely with operational colleagues within Catch22’s Employability and Skills Hub to identify opportunities to showcase our delivery to local, regional, and national policymakers. You will monitor the policy landscape in the employability sector, ensuring our policy asks are heard by the right stakeholders. Working with the wider communications team and the TikTok Government Affairs team, you’ll curate events—from roundtables to MP visits—and identify potential partner organizations to amplify our messages.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a public affairs strategy for the TikTok Creative Academy.
  • Organize policy events to showcase the programme’s impact, such as parliamentary drop-in sessions, roundtables, and MP visits.
  • Evaluate events to identify successes and areas for improvement, applying lessons learned to future activities.
  • Represent Catch22 at partnership meetings with TikTok, providing updates on public affairs activities and gathering ideas for future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the TikTok Government Affairs team to maximize public affairs opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of employability policy issues and incorporate insights from the programme into Catch22’s broader policy work.
  • Coordinate social media content related to the programme with the Communications and Policy Manager, including collecting impactful case studies.
  • Engage with local, regional, and national journalists to promote the programme and its outcomes, where appropriate.
  • Draft blog posts highlighting the programme’s impact and contributions to the employability sector.
