The White Lion is a fantastic pub attached to The Avon Gorge Hotel. It offers an outdoor terrace with stunning views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Avon Gorge, private gardens that can be booked for exclusive BBQs and events, and a big screen TV showing most sporting events with a fresh and delicious menu.
When the sun is shining, the terrace triples the number of guests the White Lion can accommodate, transforming it from a relaxing bar to one of the busiest watering holes in Bristol. This presents unique opportunities and challenges for management, including managing guest expectations, operating costs, and flexible rotas.
We are seeking a hands-on Pub Manager to oversee the operation of the White Lion. You will bring your extensive experience to lead from the front, requiring organization, professionalism, and a keen eye for detail.
You will report to the General Manager of The Avon Gorge Hotel and work alongside the operations team daily. Your responsibilities include delivering weekly sales targets, controlling payroll, and managing stock.
Ideal candidates will have proven experience as a Pub or Bar Manager in establishments that focus on high-quality food and service. You should be an experienced people leader, capable of motivating, engaging, and developing your team to achieve their best.
