The role involves collecting patients from their homes, ensuring they have their appointment cards, medications, and home secured, then assisting them safely into your vehicle. Patients are able-bodied individuals capable of entering the vehicle with minimal assistance.

You must have a valid, full driving license with no more than three penalty points, and your own vehicle with at least four seats, four doors, and seat belts in front and rear.

The Trust will reimburse mileage at rates compliant with HM Revenue and Customs guidelines, as of September 2023: 45p per mile up to 10,000 miles, then 25p per mile above 10,000 miles, plus a passenger allowance of 5p per passenger per mile.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a volunteer driver, you will work to deliver high standards, maintain personal hygiene, keep your vehicle clean, and adhere to infection control guidelines. Smoking or vaping in the vehicle is prohibited.
