Psychotherapist/Psychologist/Psychological Therapist
To act, alongside colleagues, as Lead Psychological Therapist for one of the place-based Living Well Centres (North) and the Tier 1 protocolised interventions service, supporting the multidisciplinary team and psychological therapies pathway in the care of complex presentations.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions for people with complex mental health presentations.
- Offering advice, education, and support to service users and their carers or family members as needed.
- Leading Tier 1 provision and ensuring effective care coordination within the team and pathway.
- Providing assessment and intervention for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms in populations with complex emotional needs.
- Contributing to creating a psychologically safe environment for staff, service users, and carers from diverse backgrounds.
- Offering clinical supervision and consultation, functioning as a lead specialist clinician in relevant therapies and the Tier 1 context.
- Ensuring systems are in place and effective for managing care components of the pathway and across relevant care teams.
- Undertaking service evaluation, audit, research, and policy development.
- Working autonomously within BPS/HCPC/APC/BPC/UKCP/BACP guidelines and codes of conduct.
- Interpreting policies within defined parameters and agreeing outcomes with clinical/professional leads.
- Utilizing theory, evidence-based literature, and research to support best practices.
- Liaising with external agencies and managing investigations and incidents.
- Leading informal and formal flow management (Capacity/Demand) for the locality.
- Ensuring staff stay updated with developments in the field.
- Reporting data to senior leadership, including problem-solving and flagging difficulties.
- Providing visible and effective clinical leadership to supervised teams and collaborating with others.
