Job description

The postholder will be a key senior member of UHDB's Occupational Health team, responsible for the in-house specialist psychotherapy service aimed at improving the psychological health and wellbeing of the workforce. The role involves providing clinical supervision to registered and pre-registered counsellors and psychological therapists, working autonomously within national professional guidelines, the professional code of ethics, and organizational policies.

As required, the postholder will:

  1. Provide psychological therapies to NHS staff and maintain a caseload.
  2. Undertake psychological therapy assessments, including risk assessments, and provide appropriate interventions or referrals. Maintain client records and collect anonymized data for organizational feedback.
  3. Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality Occupational Health services to all client groups.

We seek an experienced and compassionate psychological therapist to deliver high-quality therapeutic services and clinical supervision within our Occupational Health team. The role includes providing evidence-based psychological assessments, formulation, and interventions to employees, supporting individual mental health and organizational wellbeing. The successful candidate will supervise clinicians, manage complex cases, assess and manage risks, and collaborate across HR and Occupational Health teams. Upholding clinical governance standards, maintaining detailed records, and contributing to service development are essential, as is fostering a supportive and ethical therapeutic environment.
