Job Description:

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

A dynamic and inclusive Mixed Comprehensive School in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Teacher to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to explore the complexities of the human mind and behavior.

About Our Learning Community:

Our school is committed to providing a well-rounded education that values academic excellence, psychological understanding, and critical thinking. We encourage students to explore their passions, develop their talents, and become confident and articulate psychologists. The Psychology department is a well-resourced and collaborative team, dedicated to delivering engaging and challenging lessons.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Psychology lessons to A-Level students, focusing on examination board specifications.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of psychological theories, research methods, and applications, encouraging students to develop their psychological knowledge, understanding, and skills.
  • Facilitate student-led research projects, debates, and presentations, encouraging psychological inquiry, analysis, and communication skills.
  • Assess student progress through written assignments, research reports, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Psychology curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current psychological research and best practices in psychology education.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as psychology clubs, guest speaker events, and participation in psychology competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Psychology to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical and empirical aspects of the subject.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A passion for fostering a love of psychology and developing psychological skills in young people.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of psychological theories, research methods, and applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Flexible part-time hours to suit your availability.
  • Competitive salary (pro-rata MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting).
  • Access to well-equipped classrooms, resources, and psychological research tools to support psychology teaching and learning.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development in psychology education and related fields.
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment within a leading school committed to academic excellence.
