Job Description:

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

About the School:

A leading Catholic boys' school in Hounslow with a strong commitment to academic excellence and faith-based education seeks a dedicated and passionate Psychology Teacher to join our thriving department. We offer a nurturing and supportive environment where boys are encouraged to explore the fascinating world of human behaviour and mental processes, developing their critical thinking skills and understanding of the human mind within a framework of Catholic values.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower young men to delve into the complexities of psychology. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Psychology lessons across Key Stage 4 and (potentially) A-Level, fostering students' understanding of psychological concepts and theories, and encouraging them to analyze the factors that influence human behavior and mental processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Psychology lessons for Key Stage 4 and (potentially) A-Level students in line with the National Curriculum and exam board specifications, incorporating the school's Catholic ethos.
  • Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore psychological concepts and theories with curiosity and enthusiasm.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in Psychology education.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a growth mindset and a belief in their ability to understand the human mind.
  • Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Psychology Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of psychological concepts and theories.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Psychology, with a strong understanding of psychological research methods, major psychological perspectives, and key areas of study.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative department in a respected Catholic boys' school in Hounslow.
  • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young men and inspire their passion for Psychology.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
