Permanent Teacher of Psychology (A-Level Specialist) - Shape Future Thinkers at An Outstanding Havering School!

Are you an inspiring Psychology Teacher with a passion for A-Level Psychology, seeking a permanent opportunity in an outstanding school? At an outstanding school in Havering, we are committed to providing a rigorous and engaging Psychology curriculum, particularly at Key Stage 5, and we are looking for a dedicated Permanent Teacher of Psychology to join our collaborative department. This role will primarily focus on A-Level teaching, with some opportunity to teach GCSE.

About the Role: As our Permanent Teacher of Psychology, you will play a key role in guiding our Sixth Form students through the complexities of the human mind. You will deliver engaging and in-depth lessons at A-Level, fostering critical thinking, research skills, and a deep understanding of psychological theories and debates. You will also have the opportunity to inspire younger students at GCSE level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated Psychology lessons primarily at A-Level, with some GCSE teaching.
  • Cultivate a positive and intellectually stimulating learning environment for advanced Psychology students.
  • Develop and share high-quality teaching resources and contribute to the Psychology curriculum for KS4 and KS5.
  • Track student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and support UCAS applications for Psychology-related courses.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the relevant department and the wider school community.
  • Potentially contribute to extracurricular activities that promote an interest in Psychology.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong degree in Psychology or a closely related field.

  • A deep and up-to-date knowledge of the A-Level Psychology specification and assessment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, particularly with Sixth Form students.
