Job description

Are you passionate about human behaviour, the mind, and mental health? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Psychology Teacher to join a social sciences or sixth form team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young people to explore psychological theories, research, and real-world applications.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Psychology lessons at Key Stage 5 (A-Level or equivalent), with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 4 where applicable. You'll encourage analytical thinking, independent research, and a scientific approach to the study of mind and behaviour. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as Psychology Teacher:
  1. Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with exam board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel)
  2. Prepare students for assessments and external examinations, supporting academic excellence
  3. Foster a love of learning, curiosity, and critical thinking in Psychology
  4. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support
  5. Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities, such as psychology clubs, debates, or guest lectures
  6. Uphold high standards of behaviour, inclusion, and safeguarding in the classroom
Ideal Psychology Teacher:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  2. A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
  3. Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of current psychological research and theory
  4. Experience teaching Psychology at A-Level (preferred, though ECTs are welcome to apply)
  5. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
  6. A commitment to academic rigour, student wellbeing, and inclusive education
