Psychology Graduates – Student Support Roles in Secondary Education

Are you a Psychology graduate seeking meaningful, practical experience working with young people?

Protocol Education is placing ambitious graduates in a vibrant secondary school in Gateshead with a well-established SEND department. This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your knowledge in neurodiversity, SEMH, behaviour strategies, and inclusive practice – ideal for those aiming for careers in Educational Psychology, Teaching, or further postgraduate study.

The role:

  • Provide in-class support and one-to-one mentoring for students with additional needs

  • Help staff implement personalised learning strategies and interventions

  • Promote confidence, autonomy, and wellbeing across the school

  • Collaborate with students, staff, families, and external professionals

Working through Protocol Education:
You will be employed by Protocol Education for at least 12 weeks, gaining:

After this initial period, there may be the possibility to transfer directly onto the school’s contract, subject to performance and staffing needs.
