Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated Psychology Graduate to support students in a thriving secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your understanding of behaviour, cognition and child development while making a genuine difference to young people's lives.

As a Psychology Graduate you may work as SEMH Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant or Inclusion Support Assistant, gaining hands‑on

Qualifications

  • A degree in Psychology or related subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Previous experience with young people is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.

  • Assist teachers with classroom learning and intervention activities.

The Role

As a Psychology Graduate, you may work as a:

  • SEMH Support Assistant
  • Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Teaching Assistant
  • SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Inclusion Support Assistant

You'll gain invaluable experience by:

  • Supporting students on a one‑to‑one and small‑group basis.
  • Working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs and additional learning needs.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Helping students build confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom learning and intervention activities.
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SEND teams and pastoral professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
