We are looking for a SEND Support Assistant to work within a dedicated SEND classroom in a diverse school in central Newcastle. You’ll support a small group of 9 pupils with SEND, helping them access both specialist support in the school’s SEND hub and learning within mainstream classrooms.
This is a diverse, inclusive school in central Newcastle where pupils with SEND are supported through a combination of targeted provision and mainstream classroom learning. The SEND classroom provides a smaller environment where pupils can receive focused support before transitioning back into their mainstream classes.
This role could be particularly relevant if you’re a Psychology graduate looking to develop practical experience supporting children with additional needs.
You’ll have the opportunity to see how targeted SEND provision works alongside mainstream education and gain practical experience supporting pupils with different barriers to learning. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
