Psychology Graduate – SEN Teaching Assistant – Maidenhead – September Start

Are you a Psychology graduate with a strong interest in child development, mental health, or educational psychology?
Do you want to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) while gaining valuable, hands-on experience?

A fantastic and inclusive school in Maidenhead is seeking a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team September. This is the perfect opportunity for a Psychology graduate who is considering a future career in educational or clinical psychology, SEN teaching, or therapeutic work with children and young people.

Key Responsibilities as a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for children with a range of special educational needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH)
* Assist the class teacher and SENCO in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
* Help create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages emotional and academic growth
* Monitor and track student progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to support holistic development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* A degree in Psychology (or related field)
* A genuine passion for working with children with SEN
* Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
* A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning
* Previous experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is desirable but not essential
