A fantastic and inclusive school in Maidenhead is seeking a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team September. This is the perfect opportunity for a Psychology graduate who is considering a future career in educational or clinical psychology, SEN teaching, or therapeutic work with children and young people.

Key Responsibilities as a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for children with a range of special educational needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH)
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Help create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages emotional and academic growth
  • Monitor and track student progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to support holistic development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in Psychology (or related field)
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is desirable but not essential
