Are you passionate about helping set up young people for success? Are you keen to make a difference while also gaining valuable and rewarding experience?

A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for a Psychology Graduate in a primary school in Abingdon. The school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

The role as a Classroom Support Worker includes:

  • Supporting students who struggle with their classwork
  • Facilitating a sunny and friendly learning environment
  • Providing support to the class teacher
  • Helping the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boards
  • Maintaining a tidy and presentable classroom environment
  • Encouraging children to do their best
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour
  • Listening to children read and practicing phonics

The ideal candidate:

  • Will be calm and compassionate; personality is key
  • Can take initiative and problem-solve effectively
  • Has some experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
  • Is patient and supportive, especially for students with additional learning needs
  • Understands safeguarding in schools
  • Has an enhanced DBS Check or is willing to apply for one
  • Has the right to live/work in the UK – sponsorship not offered
