Job summary

A leading educational service provider is looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant who is a Psychology graduate. Trainee Teaching Assistant for Psychology Graduates – Level 2 Course & Paid School Experience

Are you a psychology graduate eager to gain hands-on experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? This is the perfect opportunity for you! Join us as a Trainee Teaching Assistant and enhance your professional experience while working towards a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.

  • Level 2 TA Course: Gain a nationally recognised qualification while you learn.
  • Paid Experience: Gain practical experience in schools working with students, including those with SEN, before committing to long-term work.
  • Specialist SEN Experience: Opportunity to work closely with students with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs.
  • Ongoing Support: Access to training, mentorship, and guidance from experienced professionals in the field of education and SEN.
  • Flexible Hours: Choose from a range of placements across primary and secondary schools.
  • Support teachers in the classroom, with a focus on students with SEN.
  • Assist with student learning, development, and emotional well-being.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional needs, using strategies informed by your psychology background.
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • A passion for working with children, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students thrive.
  • Experience or interest in working with children with SEN is desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
