1:1 Support Role in Primary Alternative Provision Lancaster


Are you a passionate and empathetic Psychology graduate looking to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most?


Tradewind are are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our nurturing team within a Primary Alternative Provision setting. This is a unique opportunity to support children on a 1-2-1 basis, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and thrive both emotionally and academically.


Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: 90 - 120 per day


About the Role:
As a 1:1 Support Worker, you'll work closely with pupils who present with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, providing tailored interventions and consistent, compassionate support. You'll be a key figure in helping them

develop positive relationships, emotional regulation skills, and confidence in learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted 1:1 support in and outside the classroom
Implement strategies informed by psychological theory and best practice
Build trusting relationships and promote positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Track and reflect on progress to inform future support


Ideal Candidate:
A Psychology graduate with a genuine interest in child development and mental health
Experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is advantageous
Resilient, patient, and emotionally intelligent
A team player with a proactive attitude and strong communication skills
Keen to learn and develop professionally
