Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Psychology Graduate – Pastoral Teaching Assistant in Hexham. You will support pupils with learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and personal development, working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.

Responsibilities include building relationships, promoting wellbeing, and supporting learners 1:1 and in small groups during lessons. A degree in Psychology or related fields is preferred, with a personable and patient approach welcome.

Qualifications

• Degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Education, Youth Work, Childhood Studies, English or Sports.
• Willingness to support pupils with learning, behaviour and wellbeing.
• No prior school experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Support emotional wellbeing and behaviour.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning.
• Assist teachers and pastoral staff in lessons and activities.
• Help pupils overcome learning barriers and gain independence.
