Job description
Overview

Psychology or Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistant role in primary and SEND schools. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

As a specialist teaching assistant you will work with pupils on a 1 to 1 basis during the school day. Pupils aged 5 to 11 years have identified behaviour, SEMH, or SEND needs (including ASD) that require full-time support. You will work with pupils in the classroom, in specialist mentoring sessions and during some break times. Some pupils may display challenging behaviour, and the school will provide training in suitable interventions and approaches. You will be part of the child’s support team, working closely with the SENCO and senior management, as well as outside agencies including therapists, healthcare professionals and CAMHS.

Qualifications
  • Be a Psychology or Criminology Graduate
  • Have experience in CAMHS / child mental health services
  • Be passionate about supporting children with SEND / SEMH needs
