Qualifications

We are seeking a Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist passionate about helping people with complex mental health needs. This is a part-time role working 32 hours per week.

Location: Newton House

Cygnet Newton House is a 21-bed specialist inpatient rehabilitation service for men, dedicated to providing a high-quality environment to promote long-term recovery.

From arrival, the team works with individuals to maximize outcomes and focus on discharge plans to support transition to the least restrictive environment.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:

  • Working as a psychologist within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Conducting psychological assessments & providing therapy to individuals & groups
  • Developing care plans collaboratively with the MDT
  • Providing training, supervision, and consultation to colleagues and teams
  • Evaluating and developing the service, and conducting clinical research
  • Disseminating outcomes via conference presentations and publications

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is…

  • A HCPC-registered Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist with experience in clinical, forensic, or mental health settings
  • Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema Focused Therapy, Cognitive Analytical Therapy, and DBT
  • Passionate about working with individuals with complex mental health needs
  • Capable of treating difficulties like self-harm, aggression, sexual offending history, and substance issues
