Job description

Job Title: Psychologist, Adult Assessments - Huddersfield

Role: Permanent

Salary: £55,000 - £110,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Full Time (Part Time Available)

Our client is an award-winning, NHS and HSE approved practice dedicated to providing high-quality psychological care across the UK and Ireland.

They offer neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments for adults and children, as well as expert witness assessments for courts, parole boards, criminal law, family law, immigration law, and medico-legal cases. They have a proven track record of high-quality assessments and fulfilling HSE/NHS contracts.

The Role

This is an exciting role within a busy service, providing assessments to adults. It is a hybrid position for qualified clinicians working in the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team, handling referrals for autism and/or ADHD assessments via HSE/NHS, patient choice, and GPs.

Some tasks may be performed remotely, but you should be able to visit the office 1-2 times per week.

The clinician will conduct comprehensive assessments, including diagnostic evaluations for autism and/or ADHD, using established tools. Mental health assessments may also be required. Assessments are carried out on behalf of HSE/NHS via GP referral.

The role includes writing detailed reports, providing recommendations, and possibly supervising junior staff.

Qualifications
  • HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Experience in diagnostic neurodevelopmental assessments for adults
  • Experience working with adults with neurodevelopmental or mental health conditions in a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and assessment tools for autism and ADHD (preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of differential diagnosis
  • Ideally ADOS-2 / ADI-R trained
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Teamwork ability
  • Report writing and record keeping experience
  • Additional qualifications in autism and/or ADHD areas (preferred)
