Are you looking to make a difference to the rewarding and expanding area of Perinatal Mental Health? Do you want to work in a supportive team, for a service which invests in its staff? We are looking for compassionate, innovative, creative and enthusiastic Psychological Therapist to join our supportive and nurturing team and deliver high quality talking therapies for people with perinatal trauma and/or perinatal loss.

The Perinatal Trauma and Loss Service is a Greater Manchester wide, trauma focused therapeutic and Psychological Therapy service for people struggling with emotional and psychological difficulties as a direct result of trauma and/or loss which has resulted from their maternity/perinatal/neonatal or reproductive experience.

The service supports the delivery of the NHS’ Long Term Plan and aims to integrate maternity, reproductive health and psychological therapy for women experiencing mental health difficulties directly arising from or related to the maternity experience.

The post holder will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention and therapy to women referred to the service. The post holder will be able to work autonomously within professional guidelines to be able to deliver interventions to help women and families who have experienced loss and trauma. They will also be able to contribute to research and audit, policy and service development within the service.

Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over 7000 members of staff, who deliver services from more than 160 locations. We provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford, Trafford and the borough of Wigan, and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the north west of England and beyond.
