Job description
Overview

Do you have the ambition, creativity and clinical skills to contribute to the development of new mental health services for children and young people? With the National conversation increasingly focused on young people’s mental health this is the time to be at the forefront of the development of these services. We are excited to be recruiting a Psychological Therapist to work in our innovative service in Suffolk: the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). MHSTs are based within education settings, ensuring children and young people receive faster access to earlier mental health support. You will provide clinical supervision and expertise to the team. You will work closely with the Clinical Team Manager and Clinical Lead in the team to support the clinical delivery of the service.

This role will be based with our East Suffolk MHST, covering the Ipswich area.

We encourage applicants from varied backgrounds, including; nursing, social work, occupational therapy and psychology.

In this role you will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to children and young people (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, through early intervention and offering the right support at the right time. You will work across a range of education settings.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for over-seeing and delivering clinical supervision of the team. You will use your clinical skills and experience for direct delivery of evidence-based interventions to support children and young people referred to the service. You will need to utilise skills and knowledge of CBT and child and adolescent mental health practice. You will also implement whole school/college approaches to mental health through collaboration and coproduction with the school/college community.
