Job Summary

Are you interested in working with children, young people and families? We are a multi-disciplinary CAMHS Crisis service offering a range of assessments and interventions to support Children and Young people in Mental Health Crisis. We are keen to recruit enthusiastic, motivated Psychological Therapists as we continue to enhance and develop our service. You will be joining a committed, experienced team of clinicians.

Main Duties of the Job

To provide psychological therapy within the CAMHS Crisis Team, including assessment, safety planning, case management, and delivering brief interventions for children/young people as determined by need. To provide consultation, supervision, and support to other clinical members of the team who provide care and treatment. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the governance of psychological therapy practice with the specialism.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Evidence of experience in delivering Psychological Therapy in a similar setting.
  • Significant experience of working as a psychological therapist in practice, experiences in a CAMHS setting as part of psychology training.
  • Able to demonstrate significant evidence of working practice as a psychological therapist, and must hold registration with the appropriate body (e.g., BACP, BABCP, HCPC).
  • Experience managing risk, risk assessment, and developing risk management plans.

Desirable:

  • Significant experience of working as a psychological therapist in practice in a CAMHS setting.
  • Evidence of working with CYP experiencing difficulties with emotional dysregulation and moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge of a range of mental illnesses in children and young people, and how to work alongside NICE guidance and evidence-based practice to intervene effectively.
