TipTopJob is recruiting a Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist for a secure hospital in the Charlwood, Surrey area. The role requires Full GMC Registration and involves managing adolescent inpatients aged 18+ within a male-only setting.

You will review referrals, conduct admissions, lead a multidisciplinary team, perform risk assessments, and ensure high standards of care under Mental Health Act governance. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review referrals for admission appropriateness.

• Coordinate specialist psychological treatments as needed.
• Assess physical health of patients.
• Liaise with referring teams and CPA review planning.
• Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act.

Job description

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist to work in an amazing hospital based in the Charlwood, Surrey area. You will be working for one of UKs leading health care providers

This is a low and medium secure hospital specialising in treating male patients aged 18+ who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and who will benefit from extended treatment and rehabilitation

**To be considered for this position you must hold a Full GMC Registration**

As The Psychiatrist Your Key Responsibilities Include

• Reviewing referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
• Conducting admission assessments and maintain effective management plans of all young people on the unit
• Conducting risk assessments and review regularly
• Allocating specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs
• Assessing physical health
• Ensuring effective liaison with referring teams
• Facilitating regular CPA review meeting
• Acting as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act
• Involvement in quality, inspections and governance processes

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders desirable
• Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+
• Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
• Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team
• In:depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation
• Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles
