What you will need to be successful

• Your Personal Support Worker Certificate or valid certification as a Home Support Worker, Home Support Worker Level II or III, Health Care Aide, or personal attendant
• Students enrolled (post first year) in health care programs such as nursing, rehab, paramedicine, or those with a valid certificate as a Developmental Support Worker, RN, RPN, Practical Nurse, midwife, or internationally trained physician
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• A recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record
• Ability to travel within the community in Port Perry
• Commitment to work every other weekend
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills; French or other languages are assets
• Reliability and strong organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg) safely
• Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle

Your role

As a caring health care team member, you will support clients to be safe and independent at home, providing personal care, assisting with mobility and light exercises, and observing/reporting any changes in their condition. Light housekeeping tasks may also be required as per care plans.
