Job summary

Thames Valley Buses is seeking a PSV Technician in Bracknell to join our engineering team. This full-time, permanent role operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern and offers a base rate of £25.00 per hour, with a £4.29 per hour enhancement after 18:00.

You will perform inspections, maintenance and repairs to keep our PSV fleet safe and reliable. Ideal candidates hold NVQ Level 3 in PSV maintenance, or have 5+ years of PSV experience.

Qualifications

• At least NVQ Level 3 in PSV maintenance and repair or 5 years of demonstrable PSV repair experience.
• IRTEC Vehicle Inspector qualification is preferred and planned to be obtained within six months where not held.
• PCV licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong ability to manage workload and work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Respond to daily driver-reported defects and diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic faults in modern bus systems and document faults and repairs.
• Record all work on digital tablet systems; provide clear, audit-ready reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and promptly flag safety hazards to management.
